Description
These Cranberry & Cream Cheese Puff Pastry Blossoms are a perfect sweet treat for holiday gatherings with a flaky exterior and creamy filling.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- ¼ cup cranberry sauce
- Zest of ½ an orange
- 1 tbsp honey (optional)
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Powdered sugar (optional, for dusting)
Instructions
- Start by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). This high heat will ensure your puff pastry rises beautifully and turns that perfect golden brown. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Take the thawed puff pastry and roll it out on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick, then cut into 9 equal squares.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, cranberry sauce, orange zest, and honey until smooth.
- Place about a tablespoon of the cream cheese filling in the center of each pastry square and fold the corners towards the center to form a blossom shape.
- Brush tops with beaten egg for a glossy finish.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
- Cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
