Ingredients

  • 1 baguette or Italian loaf, sliced (½¾ inch thick)
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic glaze (plus more for topping)
  • ¼ red onion, very thinly sliced
  • ½ cup fresh basil, chopped or torn
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 23 cups cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 12 garlic cloves, peeled
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil, divided
  • Kosher salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Flaky salt and extra basil, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Begin by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). Brush the slices of baguette or Italian loaf with 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Place the oiled bread slices on a baking sheet in a single layer and toast in the oven until they are golden brown and crisp, about 10-12 minutes. While still warm, rub each slice with a peeled garlic clove.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the halved cherry tomatoes, thinly sliced red onion, chopped basil, and the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Drizzle in the balsamic vinegar and season with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper. Toss gently to combine.
  3. Gently tear the burrata into bite-sized pieces and spoon onto each slice of toasted bread.
  4. Spoon the prepared tomato mixture over the burrata-topped bread. Drizzle additional balsamic glaze on top, sprinkle with flaky salt and extra basil leaves. Serve immediately.
