Description

Warm baked brie with figs and pecans is the perfect appetizer that effortlessly combines simplicity and sophistication.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (8 oz) wheel triple cream brie
  • 1 tbsp fig jam
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • ¾ cup chopped fresh figs
  • ¼ cup chopped pecans
  • 2 sprigs fresh thyme (leaves only)
  • 1 sprig fresh rosemary, chopped
  • Pinch of kosher sea salt
  • Crackers or sliced baguette, for serving

Instructions

  1. Start by setting your oven to 375°F (190°C). Preheating ensures that the brie will melt to perfection, creating that soft and gooey texture we adore. It’s important to get this step right as it lays the foundation for the entire dish!
  2. Now it’s time to prepare your brie. Place the brie wheel on a parchment-lined baking sheet, which will make the cleanup process a breeze. Once it’s in position, spread the fig jam evenly over the top, giving the cheese a sweet coating that will complement the savory notes of the brie.
  3. Pop the baking sheet into your preheated oven and let the brie bake for about 15 minutes. Keep an eye on it as it begins to soften and get gooey. You’ll know it’s ready when it’s soft to the touch but not leaking all over the baking sheet. The smell will also be an inviting hint that it’s nearly time to serve your creation!
  4. Once the brie is perfectly soft, remove it from the oven and allow it to cool slightly, which helps you avoid burns while serving. Next, artfully layer on the chopped figs, toasted pecans, fresh thyme leaves, and rosemary. Finish it off with a pinch of kosher sea salt and a generous drizzle of honey for that touch of sweetness. Your baked brie is now ready to be paired with crackers or slices of baguette for a delightful experience!

Notes

Ensure the brie is at room temperature before baking for a smoother melt. Keep a close watch while baking to prevent overcooking. Feel free to experiment with different nuts like walnuts or almonds. If figs aren’t in season, you can substitute dried figs or even other fruits such as apples or pears.
